Careers at Second Harvest Heartland

When you work at Second Harvest Heartland, you’re working to end Workforce development..

IMPORTANT WORK. VALUED PEOPLE.

In Minnesota, housing is a significant challenge, especially for minority and low-income families. Many families spend more than 30% of their income on rent, leaving them with tough choices between paying for housing and other essentials like food and healthcare. This issue hits minority communities hard—57% of Black renters and 45% of white renters face severe housing cost burdens. Furthermore, only 31% of Black households own their homes compared to 78% of white households, highlighting deep racial disparities in homeownership
